I believe the most important image in this essay is on slide 12, with Saleh arm-in-arm with his friends. I think this is the most important image as it shows that Saleh was able to make friends again and find a sense of belonging even after the terrible disaster.
Subjective Frame:
- I initially see in this image a group of friends happily in each other's arms, seemingly talking to each other.
- The emotional impact is one of happiness and joy, as this image shows a boy who has been through a lot of hard times united with his friends. It makes me happy as it shows that the boy was able to overcome hardship and find a happy friendship.
- I do like the artwork, as it depicts the great amount of happiness a friendship can bring, even through tough times.
- It has to do with me the feeling I had after recovering from my two injuries last year, the feeling of finally playing sport with my mates after a lot of recovery and rehabilitation.
- The artist wants to express the feeling of happiness and wants to show us that Saleh was able to make friends once again after all that has happened to him. The artist wants us to see a photo of joy after a series of very sorrowful images.
- He made this image as it is a crucial part of the photo series that represents the stage in recovery of his injury where he reconnected to a social and fun life, where he was able to get out of the hospital for once and just be a normal kid for a while. It is about the importance of friendships through hard times.
