Skills/ Techniques that I will use in my photo essay:

- The use of aperture and manual focus to control where the focus is in an image

- Black and white photographs

Elements of Design:

- Shape is used in the first image with the outline of America. As this image was put in black and white and the contrast increased, the border of America is very clearly outlined, thus including the element of shape into this photograph

- Line is used in the second image with the itinerary in the bold pencil being held down onto the paper. It is also seen in the large piece of paper, combined with the low angle shot, a large amount of line is introduced.

- The element of direction is utilised in the fourth image, with one hand handing the passport toward one direction and the other hand going in the other direction.

Special Effects:

- Black and white photoshop

- Contrast, levels and brightness in photoshop
- Blur and focus in different parts of the image
