A logo is a small, recognisable symbol that represents a company or organisation. The logo is designed to be something that everyone, no matter their position or involvement in the company, can see and identify it as a logo.

Apple- This logo is memorable because it is extremely simple; an apple with a bite taken out of it. It is symbolic of the story of Adam and Eve in the Bible, which includes the apple, a symbol of 'The Tree Of Knowledge'.

The McDonalds symbol is very iconic as it is widely renowned as the 'big m', or the 'golden arches' This is also very memorable as it is plain and simple yet still identifiable as McDonalds.

In this logo the W is highlighted as the name is BIG W, and also represents the store chain that includes BWS and Woolworths.
